For most of the coming week the Moon and our energetic output are waning. We are in the last quarter of the lunar cycle until this Friday October 4 at 8:35 PM EDT at the Libra New Moon.
New Moons are times of new beginnings every month, and at a Libra New Moon we are usually moved to lay down our swords of attack or defensiveness, to find potential agreement, to bring balance and harmony to a relationship or situation. Social graces and social niceties usually prevail over a more real expression of what is bothering us or what we personally may need. Justice and fairness are higher values that resonate more when Libra energies are strong.
But at this New Moon in Libra on October 4, energies will be more complicated than at the usual Libra New Moon. And since a New Moon sets a tone for the lunar cycle it initiates, we usually can expect a rather pleasant and peaceful ride at and after a Libra New Moon, one where diplomatic communication is the rule.
Of course Scorpio follows Libra, and then the gloves get taken off so people can “get down” into their more real and sometimes more crude expressions of emotion.
But this year at the Libra New Moon, there are some real stresses to the usually pleasant Libra energies. First of all this Libra New Moon leads the way into the first of the eclipses this autumn: A Full Moon Lunar Eclipse in Aries on October 18.
So the Libra New Moon this week pretty much touches off the Autumn Eclipse Season. To add to the importance and intensity of this Libra New Moon, the new moon is part of a strong T-square and a weaker Grand Cross.
T-squares and Grand Crosses create the tension of being pulled in several different directions at the same time.
In this case the Sun and Moon will be conjunct at almost 12 degrees of Libra; are in opposition to Uranus in Aries at over 10 degrees of Aries; and are squared (90 degree angle) by Pluto at over 9 degrees of Capricorn. These planets are in tight orb with one another by degree, making a powerful T-square.
Jupiter will be in Cancer at over 18 degrees of Cancer to form a weak Grand Cross, weak because it is far from being an exact opposition to Pluto or square to Uranus.
No matter what it is called this planetary formation brings much tension and intensity.
The Libra planets want relationship, agreement, harmony, balance, and peace. Uranus in Aries wakes us out of any slumber and shows us our personal desires and needs that may not feel comfortable with agreement or pleasantries. Pluto in Capricorn seeks to get to the core of an issue, even if it causes distress and discomfort. And if we include Jupiter in Cancer, we then potentially are dealing with emotions and moods that can get out of control.
So there is much that can pull us away from making pleasant agreements, diplomatic solutions, or balanced mindsets. The winds of the Autumn Eclipse Season are beginning to blow in.
In the greater world, the Obama administration has taken the fervor out of the drums of war that have been beating for Syria and Iran. It feels as if this new found path to peace is a major turning point in our journey toward an Aquarian Age of equality for all nations and peoples; power to the people of the world; and Diversity in Unity.
But we can expect a powerful backlash from the Guardians of the Old World Paradigm. That paradigm needs enemies; trusts no one who is different; and truly believes in the Old Testament god of judgment, punishment, “an eye for an eye” revenge, and in many case an apocalyptic drama for humanity.
Those who have been awakened know that true evolution of our species is now dependent on knowing we are all one family, and that survival of the fittest now necessitates our collective agreement to survive together.
Iran’s President Rouhani stated at the UN this week that all nuclear weapons need to be abolished and destroyed. Whether you trust his sincerity or not, he is absolutely correct. We all need to lay down our swords and know we are all in this together, because now what used to be swords are weapons of mass destruction, which can kill us all.
And it is true arrogance to believe “my country” can be trusted with these weapons, while others cannot. The USA used nuclear weapons to kill almost 300,000 mostly civilian Japanese at the end of World War II, far more than the 3000 killed in the twin towers on 9-11-2001.
So at this Libra New Moon T-square, there will be stresses to the path of peace with Syria and Iran. And there already are stresses to the potential budget agreement to avert a government shutdown.
There are very powerful aspects to President Obama’s natal chart this Autumn Eclipse Season. The first eclipse on October 18 is conjunct Obama’s natal Saturn, almost exactly. There are serious and “fated” events on the way that will bring “heavy” energies to our President.
And Saturn in Scorpio and the Hybrid Total Solar Eclipse in Scorpio in November square the usually hopeful and shiny Leo Sun of President Obama. Dark days are coming his way this Autumn, especially as he has shown he wants to try make relationship with the Empire’s sworn enemies. This possible reincarnation of Abraham Lincoln needs our prayers as he is apparently listening to his “better angels” now.
In your own life, use the earlier part of this coming week, during the waning darkening moon, to listen to your own “better angels”, your Higher Self. That way you will be building a solid inner consciousness foundation for the coming emotional storms of the Autumn Eclipse Season.
Especially as we get closer and closer to the Hybrid Total Solar Eclipse in Scorpio, we will be tested to stay on our spiritual path in inner balance. This does not mean repressing your organic expressions of authentic feelings and thoughts. It does mean, however, using the light of our Higher Self to guide the way, even when we are taken off balance to express our truth, which we sometimes need to empower ourselves.
That expression of our Truth, even if “ugly” and seemingly destructive at the time, can still be in service to our Higher Self and in alignment with the Universe.
