Time to shift gears as we move through a New Moon in Leo today- Saturday July 30 at 2:40 PM EDT. As this new lunar cycle begins, we certainly enter a new chapter of our lives now, after having our old reality shattered during the approximate eclipse season of May 1- July 30. Old realities of our lives broke down then, opening gates to a new phase of our lives, a new birth in time.
Now, at this Leo New Moon, we move more surely forward, waving goodbye to “how it used to be”. But with Mercury going retrograde this Tuesday August 2, we can be sure that our sense of reality will be tweaked even further. It is best not to build any castles of surety in your mind yet.
They would be merely sand castles, as Mercury Retrograde plays trickster with our closed perceptions and paradigms.
In the greater world, the USA economy is being challenged by the dysfunctions of our political system.
Since our politicians are bought out by special interests and corporations, there is virtually no consideration given to that which would most easily alleviate our economic challenges and solve the budget crisis and debt ceiling fiasco: make the wealthy and corporations pay their fair share, instead of looking for ways to cut services and assistance to hard working or vulnerable citizens of this country.
We have been giving tax cuts to the wealthy since the Bush years, and what has it done for the economy and for job creation? This is what is always sold to the voters in America: If the wealthy and corporations have money, they will create new opportunities and jobs for everyone else. It is the old “trickle down theory”. Perhaps there was a bit of truth to this years ago, but now corporations create so many of their new jobs in other countries, not here.
The republicans keep trying to sell people on this BS, and the democrats meekly give in every time with little fight.
A deal will probably be made this week, but the only benefit sought by the democrats will be to make a deal that lasts through the next election in 2012. This is a political benefit they seek, not one that helps the citizens. Why did they give up their principle, so elequently stated by the president in his address to the people last Monday, of raising tax revenues from the well-to-do to pay off the debt? Why don’t they fight for something that will help the real people of this nation? Why doesn’t the president show more muscle, and get down and get his hands dirty and fight for the people?
Is it not getting more and more obvious that the only real hope we have of changing this messed up system, is to have it crash so we can transform it into something that will truly serve the people, the original intention of the people who founded this country? Our hope is the changing of ages, the movement into an Aquarian Age. And truly big events will flood our world, so we will be sufficiently moved to create something aligned with the energies of an Aquarian Age.
Events that are fallouts from the eclipse season will soon erupt in our world. Besides the economy, the relationship between Judeo-Christian and Muslim cultures is getting more and more strained. The Middle East is getting more dangerous.
As comet Elenin crosses our skies in September and October, and as the Mayan Calendar, according to Carl Calleman and others, ends on October 28; we move more powerfully into this new chapter of our lives. Then a New Eclipse Season opens up in November. Expect divine intervention to shift our reality, bringing events that will be awesome and wonder-ful. New streams of light and love will move through our consciousness and lives, as Rome burns.
There is no going back to “normal” anymore. There is a new normal developing, and it will be some time before we settle into that.
For now, get ready to open up your creative channels, as there is a New Moon in Leo today. Leo follows the heart, the creative source. It may not always look at the bigger picture or what is best from a social conscience standpoint, but it always knows what it loves and wants to go there. It can get filled with self love, and as that cup of self love overflows its creative juices open up and it shines warmth and hope to all around. Leo loves to be spontaneous like a young child, and likes to be noticed and considered special by others. Its downfall is its ego and at worst narcissism, but if kept in check Leo is a joy to be around.
This could be an especially strong Mercury Retrograde, as it begins going retrograde in Virgo, a sign Mercury rules. In Virgo, there can be desires to get things just right, and since Mercury is retrograde mistakes and errors and mishaps can occur. Be careful not get too frustrated. Mercury is already slowing down, and will get stationary, ready to go retrograde on August 2. Since that is the date for the debt ceiling to get raised, expect some craziness in the process.
This Mercury Retrograde period will last until August 26, an especially long retrograde period. Remember to take into account that your mind and communication will be shifting during this period, Your perception changes. We slowly get taken into new mental zone, sometimes kind of like the Twilight Zone. So it is best to think twice before making any big decisions or signing any contracts. The linear way of thinking and communicating cannot be relied upon in the usual ways. Electronic equipment used for these purposes can sometimes go haywire during these retrograde periods also.
Also remember that reflection is good during Mercury Retrograde, as is creative and imaginative thinking. People from your past may revisit your life this month, either in person, or in dreams or through nostalgia. Let those old memories help you to better understand where you have been and what you are now doing.
