The moment of exact balance between light and dark, yin and yang is tomorrow Sunday September 22 at 4:44 PM EDT. That is the moment of the Autumn Equinox, and the beginning of the month of Sun in Libra, the scales of balance.
After that moment of true equality between light minutes of the day and dark minutes, the dark then continues to grow day by day until the Winter Solstice when dark is at its zenith.
The Autumn Equinox is like a sunset time of year, as light begins to dim with a feeling of softening, slowing down, and drifting more inward.
It is Libra time of year, a time to begin to let go of action orientation, striving too hard, and self focus. It is time to make connections. Relationship begins to become more important as is listening to others. Libra helps us to be more socially conscious, to be more civil and to find peace with others. Libra helps us to see both sides of an issue and to balance the scales to find greater equality. Justice is important to Libra, as is fairness. Libra is beauty, and visual art, and aesthetics are important. Of course one can make an argument that Libra time of year is the most beautiful as the leaves change into many lovely colors, like a floral arrangement. Libra’s weaknesses are self denial and a civility that represses being real and expressing openly.
In your life, as we move through the Autumn Equinox, you can meditate on peace and love, on finding balance inside your self and in your life. It is a fine time also to think of your social values and how to put more focus now on your romantic relationships as well as your friendships.
Later this will be a most powerful Autumn Season, with two eclipses, an exact Uranus/Pluto meeting, Mercury Retrograde, and Comet Ison.
It has been a challenging week leading up the Equinox for many people. As the guardian of the underworld Pluto changed directions forward, it made a sextile aspect to god of gravity Saturn. Many people faced some darker dramas in their life or inside themselves this past week.
In the greater world there were two explosively destructive acts committed as Pluto and Saturn were making aspect: A terror attack in Kenya and huge bombings in Pakistan and Iraq. Together Pluto and Saturn can be ruthless and seemingly needlessly destructive.
The meaning of the events precipitated by Saturn and Pluto, however, is usually about endings that cannot be avoided, that hanging on too long will not be tolerated anymore.
Over the last two weeks, the situation in Syria has calmed down. It calmed down in large part because polls showed that the people did not want the war, and Congress, the voice of the people, was also against the war. I suspect that deep in his soul, President Obama does not want the war either. He needed the people and Congress to bail him out of a most dangerous and destructive war. He is now reportedly trying to make relationship with Iran to avoid a confrontation there.
Chemical weapons being used or not was not the real issue in Syria. The real issue for the Empire is still gaining control over the Middle East region and protecting Israel in the process. But if the people are not behind the actions of attack, it will be difficult for them to perpetrate an attack. But they may still find a way to get the people involved, or they could go in anyway if they feel it is necessary to meet their ends.
But no matter what happens next, this agreement between Russia and the USA gives us hope that the Aquarian Age, a time of power to the people, a time of equal world powers, is picking up momentum.
Hopefully this breakthrough in Syria was a major breakthrough into the consciousness of a new age.
But coming up is a most powerful and potentially explosive Autumn Eclipse Season. There will be a Total Solar Eclipse in Scorpio on November 3, and it will be seen on much of the east coast USA and central Africa, regions that will feel the greatest impact of intensity.
Some of our shadows and inner demons will likely rise to the surface, bringing most challenging events. The economy and the Middle East will still be much of the focus of the coming transformational changes.
President Obama’s natal chart will be very affected by the coming eclipses, and his life will be going through much turmoil. There are many various powers that will be challenging his soul and life. I still believe he has a strong connection and maybe past life with Abraham Lincoln.
One can see, as we watch him struggle, a soul being pulled in many directions, trying to choose which path to take. There is the power of the Economic and Military strength of the Empire, perhaps threatening his life; the desire to protect America from danger; the desire to do what is right as a human being for all concerned; the pull of ego as one considered the most important and powerful person in the world.
President Obama is of course a Leo, and as such ego can be an important motivation. Obama has a south node of the Moon in Aquarius (where a soul’s past life resides and the Sun sign of Abraham Lincoln), with a north node (what a soul wants to integrate in the present lifetime) in “leading actor” Leo.
He is therefore pulled in two directions: one of equality and listening to all the voices in one’s community as Lincoln did; or being a strong leader and determining on one’s own what is best to do.
With Syria, at first he made a unilateral decision to go to war (being Leo); then he decided to ask Congress and the American people and work with Russia (being Aquarius)
This will be a very interesting but likely dangerous time period for the world coming up during the Autumn Eclipse Season.
In your own life, issues and intensity should be winding down this coming week, at least relative to what is soon coming our way. We are in the waning days of the lunar cycle, waiting for a New Moon in Libra on October 4.
So for now, there is a plateau you can temporarily rest on this coming week, getting your self prepared for more intensity and change later in October. The first Eclipse will be a Full Moon Lunar Eclipse in Aries on October 18. The first real winds of the Eclipse Season will be at that Libra New Moon on October 4. The greatest force of the Eclipse “storms” will be in early November, and the Eclipse Season will likely last until at least late November.
