This coming week Mercury goes back Direct as we enter the last quarter Moon phase of the lunar cycle that began at the New Moon in Aquarius on January 20.
Mercury goes back Direct on Wednesday February 11 at 9:57 AM EST. Later that same day the Moon in Scorpio brings the Moon into its 4th quarter phase.
So you can expect to sense a shift early this week to mid week. Mercury Direct often brings a feeling of relief, as there is a sense that things are returning to normal.
Weird vibes begin to abate, clarity starts to appear, direction is more evident. But it may take up to a week before all signs are “go”.
That is especially so as we enter the last quarter moon phase after Wednesday also. So the energies will not support making big strides forward.
Energies instead will turn us more inward and yin-ward, and toward finishing up whatever we have recently begun.
Yet still Mercury Direct will give a sense of moving forward, at least mentally. While Mercury is Retrograde we often rethink, rewind, remember, reintegrate, reflect, and often redo what goes wrong.
Now as it goes back direct, we begin to think “straight”, see beyond the fog, and stop making as many mental and communicative errors.
We start to feel more confident about making big decisions or choosing what directions to move toward.
A week later on the 18th, Mercury will be “back to speed” and the last quarter moon phase will end with another new moon, this one being a second New Moon in Aquarius (at the very last minute of Aquarius).
So this coming week stay rather “chill” ( pun intended on our weather). There is little movement suggesting big moves forward.
Better to get one’s head straight, to reconnect heart with head, and to honestly appraise your current state of being.
The next lunar cycle begins soon enough, and that one will get us ready for a most powerful late winter and spring 2015.
Tuesday through Thursday, as Mercury slows down (stationary) while shifting back Direct, may be either a mentally challenging period and/or a rather creative, mentally inventive one.
On November 7, 2000 as Mercury was doing exactly the same dance of Retrograde to Direct, the presidential election between Gore and Bush went bonkers. News anchors went back and forth all night between predicting Bush and then Gore, then Bush, etc.
Remember that Mercury is the trickster planet and as such will give you tricky situations that show exactly the opposite of what you would expect. Take for example the recent Super Bowl at the end, with all the unpredictable happenings. That game was during Mercury Retrograde.
That does not mean this Mercury shifting to Direct time will be as dramatically confusing as the 2000 election, most likely not. But if you are not too involved in your mundane tasks, you may be able to sense the shift.
It is symbolically like the clock going from counterclockwise to clockwise again.
Also this week is the first of two months in a row of Friday the 13th. Yes it is a superstitious day and bad things do not happen any more than on any other day.
But it is significant because it is reflective of the centuries old societal bias and fear of Female Power.
Friday is Venus day in most countries, like Italy: Venerdi. And even in English languages it is Frieda Day, Frieda being a Goddess like Venus.
All the days have planetary affiliations in case you have not noticed: Saturn-day, Sun-day, Moon-day. Not sure about Tuesday and Wednesday in English cultures, but in Italian those days are Martedi (Mars) and Mercoledi (Mercury). Thursday in english is Thor’s Day, who is the equivalent to Jupiter.
So Friday is Venus Day and 13 is a sacred Feminine number, as there are approximately 13 lunar months in the year instead of the calendar accepted 12 solar months.
Also some now believe there were 13 disciples of Christ, the 13th being Mary Magdalene, who would be the only woman disciple.
So Venus and 13 give us Friday the 13th. The power of the Feminine, which is mystery, emotional depth and power, and energies beyond the rational mind. Also the Feminine, as represented in part by Kali, shows us the power of the Feminine that destroys ego and hubris.
So our very “male” culture in the west has grown to fear the power of the “feminine”, which cannot be controlled or predicted.
Our world is soon to feel this power of the Feminine, which is not the societally accepted feminine, which is “sugar and spice and everything nice” That feminine is more easily dominated and controlled.
At the Pisces Total Solar Eclipse New Moon on the Spring Equinox of March 20 this year, we will begin to feel this mysterious power of change. It cannot be understood through rules, commandments or standard morality, just as an earthquake or volcano or hurricane cannot be truly understood on a rational basis.
You can look at those weather phenomena scientifically, but you will still never understand why they exist in any usual rational way.
And there is a planetary storm brewing too. The powerful aspects in late March and April show us marking points for its arrival. That will open a giant portal into a powerful new phase of the transition into the Age of Aquarius.
