Emotions certainly intensified last week surrounding the date of the Solar Eclipse last week: July 2. Many people also experienced a rising up of tensions concerning family matters last week. Here in New England a rising level of muggy humidity added to the discomfort.
I also felt a slipping into a “twilight zone” of unreality last week too. The Trump 4th of July display of military tanks, planes, and weapons in D.C. added to the unreal (or maybe too real) quality of last week.
And this foggy air of insecure feelings coordinates with Mercury’s movement, as it has been slowing down in anticipation for its shift from Direct to Retrograde.
Mercury goes Retrograde on Sunday July 7 at 7:14 PM EDT. It will stay there until July 31. So the remainder of Summer Eclipse Season, which includes one more eclipse on July 16, will be mixing it up with Mercury Retrograde the whole time.
That second eclipse, a Lunar Eclipse Full Moon in Capricorn, will be conjunct both Pluto and Saturn. Pluto will be less than 3 degrees away from that Full Moon Eclipse. That is the more powerful of the two eclipses.
So this week, the week in between eclipses and introducing Mercury Retrograde, intensifies the emotional energy field, and will tend toward having large breakthroughs into new realms.
Those breakthroughs will result from a combination of being in the middle of the eclipses, Mercury Retrograde and the powerful and liberating Mars square Uranus.
Mars square Uranus is on Thursday July 11. It represents the experience of breaking out of stuck places, liberation, changing tides of action, and breakthroughs into new territories.
Eclipses are always about change, letting go of what one clings to beyond its lifeblood. It is about breakthroughs but also breakdowns sometimes.
Mercury Retrograde also helps with change, as there is a readjustment of one’s perceptions, and a questioning of what was previously decided.
But of course it is usually not a great time to change one’s mind or direction until after Mercury has been back Direct for a week or so.
Mars in Leo square Uranus this week also can be a revolutionary energy. This is especially so because Mars is in “royal” Leo and Uranus (the ruling planet of Aquarius) is the planet of rebellion.
Energies that seek to break away from our current King George in America (Trump), will likely be much stronger this week. Mueller interviewed by Congress will happen on the 17th, a day after the Lunar Eclipse.
Also keep a close eye on Iran and Israel this week, as Mars in Leo begins to work its way through the natal charts of America, Israel, Iran, Trump, and Netanyahu.
The last time Mars was in Leo was when the great American Total Solar Eclipse in Leo shook up our world in August 2017.
Charlottesville Virginia showed us white supremacy and culture war; North Korea and Trump traded dangerous words of destruction to one another; and the Middle East was simmering hot.
For the rest of this current July and most of August, Mars will be triggering the charts mentioned above; and then will trigger the actual degree of the Total Leo Solar Eclipse on August 15.
Is there any doubt that the PTB are eyeing up Iran as they eyed up Iraq? The time of Mars in Leo this summer is a likely time of eruption.
These Eclipse Seasons are meant to take us out of status quo coasting, and get us out of our easy chairs of avoidance.
Energies from the river of new consciousness, the consciousness of the Age of Aquarius, are pushing hard against the dams of our old ways.
During times like this summer, the dams are showing big leaks and threaten to break apart so the waters of new consciousness, light, love and truth can come pouring through.
Those old ways do tend to give us a sense of stability and security, but at the same time they keep our hearts and souls controlled and locked up in chains.
The powerful events coming into our world now, no matter what, will break open the gates of our controlled hearts and souls.
This Eclipse Season is helping us to break away from family patterns, dysfunctions, and co-dependencies.
The whole idea of needing to live up to something in order to be loved, is wanting to dissolve in our minds and souls.
Each generation attempts to pass down to the next generation the same patterns. But you can stop the movement, we can stop the movement.
When a parent holds back love in order to motivate a child to do better at something, it is injuring that soul on a very deep level. It is so difficult to break away from that pattern later in life.
Yes task masters can be very helpful in getting someone to be the best that they can be, to be excellent and a master at what they do.
You can hold back praise and be disappointed. Hold them accountable. But please do not make that child feel they do not deserve love, that love must be earned.
We each deserve to be loved for exactly who we are authentically, which we do for our babies and toddlers. But then, often coinciding with school attendance, we damage self esteem and self love by our showing disdain and disgust for those not living up to a high bar of achievement.
The Cancer/Capricorn dichotomy during the eclipses now and again in December 2019 and January 2020, will tend to bring out these issues.
Cancer can guilt and shame us into doing what is expected; Capricorn can humiliate and destroy our self esteem. Together they are the Mother (Cancer) and Father (Capricorn) of the old paradigm.
Those archetypes sought to program us, so we could produce for and show allegiance to the Family (Cancer) and State (Capricorn).
Now those signs are transforming how they operate in our new consciousness for a new Age.
Cancer is the unconditionally loving parent who sees our soul and knows us as precious beings. It helps us develop inner values based on who we are. It helps us to love ourselves.
Capricorn is the parent who sees what we can do in the world, based on our talents and gifts, and interests. And more than all else, it guides us to find our potential destiny, our purpose for being on the Earth this incarnation. It helps us to find our truth.
Now with the Cancer/Capricorn emphasis in our recent Eclipse Seasons, we can purge the old parents inside us. And we can let in the transformed inner parents who are our foundation in the new paradigm and age.
Our own personal parents often do the best they can for the time. After we have passed through layers of transformation, we learn to love them in new ways.
As we release our need to make them be what we wanted them to be, we are at the same time giving them the consciousness of the new paradigm and age.
The parents you received this lifetime are arguably just what you needed, not necessarily what you wanted.
Stay present for energies that are moving through you this Eclipse Season. It may not feel so good sometimes, but the deeper transformational work is happening deep inside our hearts and souls.
