Last week I wrote that “Birds are falling from the sky, an omen of grave seriousness now. The old world is toxic and its old corruption needs to end. Ugly world events are on the way.” And of course right after I wrote that the horrible tragedy in Tucson happened.
Those who regularly read this blog know that I wrote last year- that between late October 2010 and mid January 2011 big event(s) would happen that would greatly shake up our world. That period of time falls within what has been the Eclipse Season that took in the Lunar Eclipse on December 21 and the Solar Eclipse on January 4. The so-called Eclipse Season was meant to put structure to the time of greatest influence of those eclipses. Perhaps the Tuscon tragedy is the last big event to happen during the Eclipse Season.
Nevertheless, since that first lunar eclipse occurred on the same day as the Winter Solstice, I believe we need to be aware that more big events may still be on the way this winter. These big events are like huge storms that are blowing into our lives, storms that wreak destruction and bring us through a new passage forward in our lives. These storms are transformational events that prompt us to question our ways, and look for new ways to be.
The old world we are leaving is so toxic and corrupt. People have been arguing the merits of various reasons why the Tucson shooting that killed 6 people and almost killed Congresswoman Giffords happened.
Some believe that the collective political dialogue is so hateful that it spawns such violence as was seen in Tucson. They point especially to the fact Sarah Palin talks about “don’t retreat, reload”, or how she put crosshairs over USA congressional districts that she wanted to defeat in the recent elections, including Giffords’ district.
Others have been criticizing lax gun laws that make it easy for unstable people to get guns and commit these crimes. Others blame society’s ills in general for creating messed-up people who do crazy things.
And others merely say that there will always be such “bad” people who we must guard against by stricter laws.
I’m sure there is some truth in each of those arguments, but I believe the greater truth is that we are moving at a now accelerated speed into an Aquarian Age. We are now in transition between an old Pisces Age begun around the time of the birth of Christ, and a new Aquarian Age we are on the cusp of now.
The technological Age is a big part of the Aquarian Age, and is so Aquarian in character. We are forming webs of information and communication linking us together all over the world. This is moving us beyond a more feeling oriented Pisces Age and into the greater detachment of an Aquarian Age. We have less personal and intimate connections. We are getting more conscious socially, as social networks like Facebook and Twitter get more and more popular. Our smart phones and computers also bring us more technological interactions with one another. With texting and email and skype, etc, we actually make more connections with one another, but are losing the intimacy and romance in many cases.
Much anxiety can erupt in people as a result of the technological revolution. Though we have less privacy, we ironically also have greater feelings of aloneness and separation.
We feel connected to others in an all too often detached and superficial way. Deep nurturing emotional connection is less common. Much emotional connection, like in families, is without healthy boundaries and dysfunctional. We are moving away from the nuclear family and are beginning to form new kinds of families, families that are not just about blood connections.
We need to learn in this Aquarian Age transition to better balance our new social networks and technological world with nature, emotions, and spirituality.
The old world that is run by global corporate and big military and big government is dying and will be replaced “by the people”. People will return more to community and local resources, while in greater network with other local communities.
There are many more big storms coming over the next few years, storms that will break down the old power structures that have been running our lives in such toxic and corrupt ways. As they break down, the new human communities and networks will grow stronger, with new and healthier ways to steward our Earth and all its creatures in Oneness.

Do not be concerned about the new sign and be worried about how your astrological sign has now been changed to something new. This promotion of a new sign and changing signs has been created by non-astrologers. Making Pluto a non-planet was also not accepted by astrologers. Some like Rachel Madow, who had a segment on it this week on her TV show, do not even believe in astrology. Western astrology is rooted in the the connection to the equinoxes and solstices and the “cutting of the pie” into 12 signs from those points. It is not literally lined up with the constellations. YOUR SIGN HAS NOT CHANGED!!!
This Week
On Wednesday January 19 this week there is a Full Moon in Capricorn/Cancer at 29 degrees at4:21 PM EST. It is trine Uranus and Jupiter in Pisces, which bring more potentially chaotic energy. It is a strong Full Moon. This is partially so because of the aforementioned aspects but also because of the fact that this is the full Moon that brings to climax the Solar Eclipse New Moon from January 4. Events that began to form around that new moon complete themselves now. Be aware of new world events that could very well occur around the time of this full moon.
In your own life it is time to better balance inner and outer concerns, emotional and domestic concerns with logical and career concerns. Emotional issues may threaten whatever boundaries and agendas you may have built.
Next Saturday Jupiter leaves Pisces where it has been for a year for the fresh and new energies of Aries. We will examine that movement more next week.
