As the Sun moved into Pisces this past Friday February 18, we move into the final month of winter. Pisces is a water sign and a mutable sign, so it can be very changeable and elusive. Pisces people can difficult to pin down, as they are flowing from one feeling or thing to another, without a sense of direction. So, it being Pisces time of year, it is often helpful to “go with the flow”, to not be too consumed with any certain agenda.
Virgo is the opposite sign and it can be very focused and even obsessed. Pisces avoids too much focus, and instead needs to be able to shift, even shape-shift, depending on what circumstances and people it is presented with.
Mutable signs, as both Pisces and Virgo are, are always the last month of a season; and as such the climate can be very changeable on many different levels. Of course the weather is changeable- as some days we can feel Spring coming during Pisces time of year, but on other days the stark cold of winter is staring us in the face.
And in our lives and feelings, Pisces time of year can be changeable also. A part of us may still want to hide out and stay inside our homes and inner world. Another part of us may be getting anxious for warm weather and sunnier days, for more activity and positive thoughts and feelings.
But remember that overall we are getting our selves ready for the new beginnings of spring. We are letting go of the ghosts of our past season, the demons we have faced during the winter. Often during winter we face our fears, we get sick more often, we get in touch with the fact that nature does not always feel alive and supportive. The death of nature and the shortness of daylight minutes of a day remind us we are mortal creatures, and that life encompasses both light and dark.
But now during Pisces time of year, we can work with our inner demons, with the belief systems that keep us chained to negative and dysfunctional ways and patterns. We can release our inner demons and get ourselves ready to embrace life more positively as we move closer to spring equinox. This year it will be on March 20 at 7:21 PM EDT.
As happened in winter, spring and early summer will bring big life changing world events. The revolutions that began in Tunisia, spread to Egypt and now are brewing in Libya, Bahrain, Yemen, and Algeria are meant to wake up and shake up the whole world. Do not be fooled into thinking the unrest in these countries will go away and life there will simply go back to “normal”. It won’t.
And don’t be fooled into thinking that this is just happening to those people far away, and it has nothing to do with me or America. You are wrong.
This revolutionary activity is about changing the pardigm for living on Earth for humanity, it is a changing of the rule book, a powerful voyage into a new age.
Ther is an Old Guard, trying to perpetuate the existence of an old set of standards for human living that no longer serve us. We have outgrown those ways of being. We are on a fast track of evolution now, yet nevertheless the Neanderthal-like guardians of an old world will not easily give up their power and privilege. And we citizens of this old world do not easily give up our false sense of security, a sense of stability from a toxic and corrupt world that at least is snugly familiar to us.
But our brothers and sisiters in the Middle East are sick and tired of their lives, minds and souls being owned by a few people. Those few people protect systems that have provided them with wealth and privilege, while its loyal subjects suffer in subservience.
Just as our American ancestors fought the yoke of tyranny from the kings and queens guarding an old and corrupt English empire, so do the citizens of the Middle East countries fight for their liberty and dignity.
And we here in America are not as free as we think we are. We have all been programmed to be in allegiance to America, an America that fights to keep its lofty ideals, but in reality is now a “superpower” Empire that attempts to control the lives and welfare of peoples all over the world. And the people here in the USA are fighting to keep afloat in a sinking ship, in an economy run by smoke and mirrors, an economy that benefits the wealthy and privileged, while so many others are disillusioned and suffering. The banks and corporations and big investors are thriving, while unemployment and foreclusures stay high. We are getting closer, it seems to me, to another great fall in the economy.
So be prepared for the waves of revolution in the Middle East to cause a tsunami of change all over the world. The old institutions and structures that have been running the world are beginning to crumble. The old power structures are shifting and transforming. There will be no superpowers in our future, instead we are looking at more equity in a world of Diversity in Unity.
Power is coming more and more to the people, who as a free people will take more individual responsibility for the world, not give their power away to dictators, goverments and mega-corporations. The Soviet Union fell, the Berlin wall fell, the white’s control of South Africa fell, Mubarak fell. We are learning that huge militaries and economic structures do not control the Universe. When it is time for someting to fall and die, and if at the same time the people are ready to claim their power, then Empires will fall. In fact they all eventually do fall.
And in your own life, the same thing can be said. You can overcome what may seem like insurmountable odds, in order to free your self and claim your self, your soul and your individual power. There will be a part of you that wants to cling to the Old Guard inside of you, to the status quo.
And there will be another part of your self that is attracted to a new paradigm for living your life. You want to evolve out of the old and painful beliefs and attitudes and patterns that keep you unhealthy and unhappy. Yet fears of loss of security sometimes seem to cripple your desire to heal and transform your life and soul. You cannot see how you can, on a practical level make the changes.
But the old ways are falling out in the world and in our personal lives. Astrological aspects continue to promise great change, promise to bring earthquakes of evolutionary change into our lives. You also may be ready to leave those situations and inner demons that dominate and control your psyche and life. If so you will get much help now, as the energies are of freedom and liberation, in Egypt and in each one of us.
So use these last days of winter to ponder and reflect, to begin to release the demons of fear that hold you back from actualizing your full potential.
